Full time - Maintenance Team

POSITION: MAINTENANCE TEAM
 
PURPOSE
The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the campus for effective operations.
 
QUALITIES
the person in this position must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality relative to the information obtained through the position. The person in this position must be capable of daily, moderate physical exertion such as walking, lifting, pushing and carrying.  
 
RESPONSIBILITIES 
  1. Complete planned projects as directed. 
  1. Complete maintenance work orders as directed. 
  1. Perform regular vehicle maintenance including refueling, battery tests, and tire checks. 
  1. Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. 
  1. Perform preventive maintenance repairs and inspections on all church-owned and maintained properties and equipment. 
  1. Assist in the picking up supplies and materials necessary for operation and any other church needs. 
  1. Perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC systems. This includes changing filters, belts, and cleaning coils. 
  1. Maintain ongoing, clear communication with the Facilities Director and Ministry Assistant regarding church needs, supplies, maintenance status, etc. 
 
 
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS 
  1. High School Diploma, minimum. 
  1. Experience in performing maintenance activities. 
  1. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. 
 
PERSONAL APPEARANCE
The maintenance staff is in constant contact with church members as well as members of the community.  As a result, personal appearance and grooming standards are expected to be at a professional level.  Uniforms will be provided.
 
 WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS 
  1. Work involves moderate exposure to elements such as various temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, cleaning products, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. 
  1. Activities require heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling objects up to 100 pounds.  Physical capability is a primary part (more than 70%) of this job.  
  1. Work environment involves physical risks and requires following basic safety precautions. 
  1. Occasionally, work may require using a ladder or being on top of one of the roofs of church buildings.
  1. Work schedule is full time, Monday through Friday, with occasional rotating weekend shifts. Every effort is made to maintain a consistent schedule, however, there are occasions where flexibility is needed.
