FACILITIES WORKER – UTILITY OPERATIONS

PURPOSE
- The primary purpose of this position is to support the Facilities Team and maintain the campus for effective operations.

QUALITIES  
- The person in this position must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality relative to the information obtained through the position. The person in this position must be capable of daily, moderate physical exertion such as walking, lifting, pushing and carrying.

RESPONSIBILITIES 
  1. Support the Facilities Team in maintaining the order and proper functioning of buildings.
  2. Maintain proper care of the use of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of environmental and safety practices in the workplace.
  3. Disinfect areas with high traffic volume, such as Preschool.
  4. Provide utility assistance for ongoing ministry activities. 
  5. Maintain room setups and teardowns following the church calendar.
  6. Support Facilities Department with scheduled cleaning tasks.
  7. Receive and organize monthly supplies.
  8. Maintain ongoing, clear communication with the Facilities Director and Ministry Assistant regarding church needs, supplies, deliveries, etc.
  9. Other duties as required.
 
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS 
  • High School Diploma, minimum
  • Experience in performing maintenance activities
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
 
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Work involves moderate exposure to elements such as various temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, cleaning products, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. 
  • Regular physical activity requires walking, lifting heavy objects, pushing or pulling objects and carrying moderate to heavy items. Physical stamina and capacity is an important part of this job. 
  • Work environment involves physical risks and requires following basic safety precautions. 
  • Work schedule is full time, Monday through Friday, with occasional rotating weekend shifts. Every effort is made to maintain a consistent schedule, however there are occasions where flexibility is needed.
 
PERSONAL APPEARANCE 
  • The person in charge of Utility is in constant contact with church members and community members. As a result, appearance and grooming standards are expected to be of a professional level. Uniforms will be provided.
